Many visitors to Panama like to travel around the country to experience all the different climates and cultures. Aeroperlas, one of the local regional airlines, at one time, would fly from David to Bocas. They have recently stopped this service. However, the trip from Boquete to Bocas is still possible by private taxi and modern bus. The transportion is reliable and much more fun than taking a flight. You have the opportunity to experience crossing the continental divide over the mountains; and you will see more of the country from the ground than you would in the air. Total time is about 4 hours, not much more than taking a flight; you save time at the airport, flight time, and the ground transportation to and from the David airport. The cost is equal to or less than flying.
