About Us

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

What times do your tours depart?
Our tours depart every day starting at 8:30am and 1:30pm. Sunrise or sunset wildlife tours can be arranged, by request only. (Some times may vary depending on weather and wildlife viewings.) Our last tour of the day returns just after sunset.

Do we need to make a reservation in advance?
We do not require advance reservations. However, there are times when we do sell-out. We recommend making reservations in advance so that you will have the greatest selection of tours and times available.  You may purchase the tour and date you wish on our reservation webpage.

What is your cancellation policy?
There is no cancellation charge for more than 48 hours notice. We have a 50% cancellation charge for less than 48 hours notice. There are no refunds for cancellations the day of the tour.

What should we bring/wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable outdoor clothing, (dress in layers and bring a swimsuit to the Caldera Hot Springs), this includes sturdy hiking or tennis shoes, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen. Rain jackets are recommended May thru November as showers pop up many afternoons; during this time some of the trails can get muddy--if you are hiking, bring water proof boots.

What is the best time of day to take a tour?
Any time of day is spectacular! The lighting and wildlife are different at each hour. Mornings are the coolest time of day and the best time for bird watching. During the rainy season (May thru November) morning hiking is best.

Do you have water on the jeeps or should we bring our own?
The Jeeps carry water, juice, and snacks. But you are welcome to bring additional supplies.

Do you offer hiking tours?
We have hiking tours that are either 4, 8 or 10 hours long. Your Guide will customize your hiking tour based on your abilities and personal preferences.

Can you pick me up at my hotel?
We offer hotel pick-ups in the Boquete area at no additional charge. Please request a pickup from your hotel one day prior to your tour date.

What happens if it rains?
Our tours operate rain or shine. Boquete has a lot of micro climates so most rainfall is short-lived. The rainfall offers a chance for rainbows and waterfalls providing spectacular photo opportunities. We also have rain ponchos on our jeeps. If the weather conditions are severe causing the trails to be unsafe, we would offer to switch your tour or reschedule.

Are there restrooms on the tours?
We highly recommend using the restroom prior to your tour departure. There are also bathrooms at some of the stops, however, they vary in modernization. Bringing tissues or toilet paper is advisable.

Is it customary to tip the driver and if so, how much?
Yes, it is customary to tip your guide. The usual gratuity is 15%.

How many people do your Jeeps hold?
Our Jeeps hold a maximum of 6-8 passengers.

Can we split the payments between two people?
We can split payments any way you prefer.

Do you have smooth tours for pregnant women?
Depending on the level of fitness and term in pregnancy, most of our tours are fine for pregnant woman. However, remember there is off-road travel that can be bumpy. Discretion is advised.

Will there be other people on the jeep with my family?
Our tours often sell out and we maximize each jeep to accommodate all of our customers. Most likely there will be other people on the jeeps with a maximum capacity of 6-7 passengers.

Can I get a private jeep?
You can have a private Jeep by purchasing all 6 seats on the Jeep.

What is the weather like in Boquete?
Boquete has a spring-like weather pattern most of the year.  December through March is considered the high season and has less rain than the other months.
