Information about Boquete, Panama:
Although just 8.9 degrees above the equator, at 1,200 meters (3,956 ft.), Boquete is cool, when compared to the lowlands and the city of David, 39 km. (24 miles) down the mountain.
The town of Boquete is spectacularly set in the lush, always green hills bordering both sides of the valley of the Rio Caldera. Panama's Central Cordillera (mountain range) is renowned for its’ fresh air, clean drinkable water, comfortable temperatures (rarely more than 30C - 86F), humidity-free climate, prolific flowers and verdant vegetation.
Boquete, Panama has been highlighted in many articles and magazines as being a top retirement destination. However, there is more to do in Boquete than just relax and unwind (although it is a great destination to do just that). Many visitors in the past would drop in for a couple of days, on their way to Bocas del Toro, Costa Rica, or Panama City. But that is not enough time to really see and experience the beauty, fun, and adventure in this quaint little town.
